BIOBID EYE DROPS contains ciprofloxacin, which belongs to the group of medicines called fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It is used to treat bacterial infection of the eye or the ear in conditions such as corneal ulcers, chronic Suppurative otitis media, external otitis, malignant otitis externa, etc. Symptoms of an eye or ear infection may include red, watery eyes and bloodshot eyes, severe eye pain, pus or discharge and in severe cases can also lead to vision loss and blindness.
BIOBID EYE DROPS is also used for the topical treatment of inflammatory ear infections such as Chronic Suppurative otitis media, external otitis, malignant otitis externa and perioperatively in chronic otitis media. This medicine is indicated for use in adults and children above 1 year.
BIOBID EYE DROPS on prolonged use can cause an overgrowth of other non-susceptible organisms. Hence, it should be used only for the prescribed time as per your doctor. BIOBID EYE DROPS should be used with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the baby.
BIOBID EYE DROPS is not recommended for use by children below 12 months (1 year) of age, including newborns without a doctor’s advice. The most common side effects of using BIOBID EYE DROPS are redness, itching, irritation, pain, red eye, and double vision. Consult a doctor immediately if any of the symptoms worsen.
BIOBID EYE DROPS is an antibacterial agent that acts by inhibiting bacterial replication by targeting the essential enzyme (DNA gyrase) inside the bacteria. As a result, it treats and prevents bacterial infections involving the eye and the ear.
Always apply BIOBID EYE DROPS as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Wash your hands before applying them to the affected area. Do not wear contact lenses while using this medicine in the eye. Your doctor will prescribe the correct dose and duration according to your age and disease condition.
