INTRODUCTION ABOUT HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET

HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET contains Diethylcarbamazine which belongs to the group of medicines called Anthelmintics. It is used to treat filarial infections, tropical eosinophilia and toxocariasis. It is also used to prevent loiasis (eye worm infections).

Filariasis is an infectious tropical disease caused by any one of several thread-like parasitic roundworms.

HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with seizures and liver diseases. Contact your doctor before taking it.

HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with kidney or heart disease. Contact your doctor before taking it.

HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women. Contact your doctor before taking it. HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it is not known whether it may pass through the breast milk. Contact your doctor before taking it.

USES OF HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET

Used to treat and prevent:

  • filarial infections
  • tropical eosinophilia
  • toxocariasis
  • loiasis (eye worm infection)

HOW HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET WORKS

HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET functions by destroying the infection-causing parasites and preventing their future growth.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Based on your age, body weight and medical condition, your doctor will choose the appropriate dose and duration for you.

Nausea and Vomiting:

Try to take rest and don’t involve yourself in exertive activities. Apply a pain-relieving balm to your forehead. If the headache does not improve, consult with your doctor.

KIDNEY

LIVER

ALLERGY

Do not take HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET if you are allergic to Diethylcarbamazine or intolerance to lactose or other ingredients of the medicine.

OTHERS

HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET is not recommended if you have:

  • serious eye damage due to onchocerciasis (parasitic eye disease)
  • rare hereditary problems such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency and glucose-galactose malabsorption

Before taking HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have:

  • epilepsy
  • other acute concomitant diseases

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug - Drug interaction:

Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription, vitamin supplements or herbal products.

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of HETRAZAN 100MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are headache, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting and, in serious cases, it may cause convulsions.
